If you could choose ten famous people (alive or passed) to have a dinner party
I think I'd go for Elizabeth 1, even though I'd be hugely intimidated, it would be just amazing to see her and hear her speak, then Noel Coward because he's just so witty, and of course Shakespeare. Then maybe Julian Fellows, I love his scrips and books so he would be good value and Dame Maggie Smith because I'm sure she would be really amusing ...
... I think Julia Childs would be fascinating and Stephen Fry, another witty one. But just so I wasn't completely out of my depth I'd add Hamish Blake (aussie comedian) he just makes me laugh as does Tina Fey, oh and Kate Winslet, because I'm sure she's down to earth and fun to be with ... though she may have to slap me if I started hyperventilating at my own guest-list.

I LOVE your guest choices Deej....if you come to my party, can I come to yours ? I want to meet all of your dinner guests too !! I love your interior images as well.
Elizabeth 1st was told that she was Queen at Hatfield House which is only a few miles from me.....I'll have a word with her ghost to see if she is available !! haha. XXXX
Oh my I am laughing out loud here at your remark that you might need a slap....ditto here if I look at my dinner guest list! Darn, I should have invited Maggi as well! Find her truly amusing!

That guest list would set me to hyperventilating, too! Julia Child is definitely at the top of my list, as well as Oscar Wilde. I'd seat them beside each other: Wilde and Child. :) xoxo Gigi
Love this... the wine, the chandelier, the dark setting.

I often think of this. I would have:
*Obama
*Simon Cowell
*Oprah
*Richard Branson
*Ghandi
*Dickens or Jane Austen
*Elie Wiesel (author and Holocaust survivor)
Ooh! can't think of anyone else ?
what a great thought provoking post!
Oscar Wilde, Katherine Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Jane Austen, Chelsea Handler, Jeremy Irons, Elton John, Freddie Mercury, so far
What a fun and wonderful fete that will be...I too included "Julia" (yes we are now on a first name basis) What a great night you must be having!
I think we were all intimidated by the people we invited, maybe that's why we invited them? Love Noel Coward the most, and it's so much fun to see Julia Childs on so many lists.
Well done, my friend. Thank you for participating with us this week. xx's
what a beautiful place. bet you had a good time.

Oh my! I'd have to agree on Elizabeth I, Noel Coward, Shakespeare, Maggie Smith & Kate Winslet (mad girl crush on her!). I have toadd my other girl crush right now, Zooey Deschanel. Definitely Oscar Wilde & John Keats. Hmmm, I could go on...
